Privacy Policy

The short version

FieldManual does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We have no accounts, no login, no analytics, and no tracking. Your privacy is not just respected — it is structurally guaranteed by how the application is built.

Data stored on your device

FieldManual uses your browser's built-in storage (IndexedDB) to save your guide progress and preferences (such as text size). This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to any server, synced to the cloud, or shared with anyone.

You can clear all locally stored data at any time from the Settings page.

Service worker and offline caching

FieldManual uses a service worker to cache application files so the app works offline. This cache stores only the application code and assets — no personal data. You can clear this cache by clearing your browser's site data.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use cookies, ads, or personal tracking. We do use basic analytics to see which pages get visited and the general area visitors are coming from. None of this is tied to you personally — we have no way of knowing who you are.

Hosting

FieldManual is hosted on Vercel. Like all web servers, Vercel may automatically log standard technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps. These logs are managed by Vercel under their own privacy policy and are not accessible to or used by FieldManual.

Third-party links

FieldManual links to external websites such as VA.gov and other government resources. These sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
